The Iberian pig has a particularly tasty meat that has little or nothing to do with the meat of other breeds of pigs. Its colour is reddish and its most special characteristic is the formation of

intramuscular fatty streaks, the ´marbling` that gives the meat its special flavour and juiciness.

It has fatty acids beneficial to the cardiovascular system and has lower levels of saturated fats than other meats.
