Production area
The Jamúz Valley is located within the D.O. Tierra de León, in an area with clayey-calcareous soils and a mild inland climate. The vineyards are old, centuries old, recovered for the production of this wine.
Grape: Mencía mostly, Alicante Bouchet and Prieto Picudo
Winemaking process
Isolated vines in goblet, which are cultivated with traditional methods and organic viticulture.
Spontaneous vinification and malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged for 12 months in French oak and subsequent refinement in concrete tanks for at least 4 months.
Tasting note
“El Chano” is a fresh and fruity red on the palate, with red fruit flavors and a mineral aftertaste. light body Soft tannins, somewhat wild and earthy, as is typical in this area.
Wide spectrum of pairing: meat, game, cheese, rice and fish.
